Founded by Mr Thanh Nguyen and Mrs Thanh Pham, Tay Do has been delighting the residents of Shoreditch with its southern Vietnamese delicacies since August 2000. Though Vietnamese cuisine is somewhat in vogue in the UK, Tay Do is one of the oldest and best-loved Vietnamese restaurants in London. This is not a restaurant for hipsters looking solely to update the ‘gram, this is a place for real foodies looking for authentic Vietnamese food.
Now known as Can Tho, Tay Do is a city in the Mekong Delta region of southern Vietnam, and its cuisine reflects its proximity to one of the most fertile places on earth. Fresh herbs, colourful vegetables, silky rice noodles and fresh seafood comprise the food of this region. Dishes such as summer rolls; rice paper rolled around crunchy veggies and dunked into a sweet-sour sauce, as well as light and refreshing noodle soups and fragrant steamed fish dishes can all be found on the Tay Do menu, as well as a few pan-Asian favourites such as Singapore noodles, chow mein and papaya salad.
In classic Vietnamese style, Tay Do restaurant is simply furnished, comfortable, with quick, efficient service and of course, a warm Southeast Asian friendliness that will leave just as much of an impression as the food. When you book a table at Tay Do with DiscoEat, you can enjoy a time-dependent discount of between 10-50% off your food, every day!
