One of London’s elementary pho restaurants, Cay Tre’s Soho branch is the brainchild of Saigon-born Hieu Trung Bui. Pho was not always the trendy hipster fodder that it is today, but has, for much of its 20-year existence in London, been relatively unknown. Only Vietnamese expats in the UK or the odd adventurous Londoner may have previously stumbled across Cay Tre’s soup-erb (sorry) noodle soup phở, a dish made from silky rice noodles served in a meaty, savoury, fragrant broth spiced with warm spices and roasted aromatics.
As well as typical variations of phở bò (beef pho), and other Vietnamese noodle soups, you’ll be able to find other fantastic Vietnamese classics on the menu of Cay Tre Soho. We particularly love the bún chả; an iconic northern Vietnamese dish comprised of marinated and barbecued pork belly, shoulder, and meatballs, served with thin ‘bún’ rice noodles and a tangy dipping sauce. We also recommend the sharing dishes for larger parties; order three or four between you and dine communally, just like in ‘nam! The crispy-fried sea bass is to die for.
The interior of the Cay Tre Soho branch perfectly combines Soho chic with Vietnamese chill. The perfect spot for a quick lunch, intimate dinner or celebration with friends, Cay Tre Soho also features a well-stocked back-lit bar and space for large parties! As always, when you reserve a table at Cay Tre Soho with DiscoEat, you can expect a time-dependent discount of up to 50%, all day, every day. Have fun and keep discovering with DiscoEat!
